Heavy hearts this evening as we share the passing of our sweet Mom tonight. All of us were in town and able to be with her by her side as her body finally gave up and gave her the peace we have wished for her for the past year and a half. We spent Sunday together while she was coherent and able to sit for dinner with us. Sunday was a GREAT day for her. It was a blessed opportunity for all of us to express our love and gratitude to her for being our strongest advocate, protector, and cheerleader throughout our lives. This disease was cruel and unfair, yet her ferocious stubbornness kept her with us for as long as her body would let her keep it and we are grateful for the time we had.
The true miracle in this experience has been the incredible outpouring of love from every one of you. When her health took a severe turn for the worse last year we had two goals - to get her to her 70th birthday and to have her see her last grandchild be born. Both were accomplished (even celebrating the 1st Birthday of Marigold) thanks to the continued support of each and every one of you. On behalf of our family I want to pass along our gratitude for the texts, calls, and visits that kept her going and kept her will to live.
After her 70th birthday we decided to “bring her close” and focus on our time with her. It was truly a blessing to be with her and to see her grandchildren gather this summer to express their love and appreciation for her. She passed knowing that she was loved and appreciated by her family and her friends. We will miss her deeply, yet we are grateful she is free of the disease that was so cruel to her.
Information regarding the viewing and funeral will be forthcoming.
We love you Mom
I loved Shauna so much and have enjoyed the few conversations we have had lately. She most enjoyed telling me about her family and what they were all doing. Glad she is out of pain and suffering. Thoughts and Prayers to your family. I am out of the country for a few more weeks, will the funeral be recorded?
Love to you all.
